Remediation- is the mixture of the old art with the current art to create something new.

Remediation is the combination of Hypermediacy and Immediacy working together.

-Immediacy- is transparent and single viewed/ shows only one type of view for a scene or event

Which Image Best Represents "War"?

Eddie Adam's War Photo:

It was a black and white real image of a man with a gun to his head.

A majority of students voted this photo to best represent war based on the fact that it was an actual image of real death (gritty), not a man made re-creation (it served as a window and not as a canvas.  No simulation), and no perspective being imposed. It was an isolated, smaller event with a bigger impact.

3D World Images from Call of Duty:

It is considered to be immersive, it could provide empathy, multiple perspectives,  multiple movements, the REPRESENTATION of it being real, and it contained fullness of details.

Battle of Gettysburg:

-Painted by Peter Rothermal

the painting contained real "feeling", a strange connection to the actual event, and it was also immersived due to its size and detail. The interpretive process is "real".
