The term "literary text" usually applies to a work that is published in a book. New media works or "texts" such as video games, videos narratives and even hypertext novels are rarely considered "literary" (by the masses) because of our notion that books carry more merit due to their physicality and thus stability.
Although digital hypertext novels such as Shelley Jackson's Patchwork Girl may be considered more literary than other digital narratives because it relies mostly on text, using images and links as supplements but not centering the narrative around them.
