“Content will be King.” - Web 2.0
This phrase refers not to content, but content collaboration. An example of this is found in the wiki novel, A Million Penguins. Due to people's ability to influence the narrative in different ways, the term Banana-it-up has been formed to describe a form of influence that one person interjected into this story. Since things such as banana-it-up can be seen in a negative way, like "graffiti," questions are raised like how to make content collaboration work? How can there be a coherent/consistent narrative?
Perhaps the first question to answer is what is an author? "Author" comes from "authority", and it is actually a rather modern invention, existing only in the last few centuries. The author - the authority on the text - is seen as the lead voice, owner of the idea, originator of a concept, person responsible, the big picture person and the person around whom all the meaning is fixed.
In content collaboration, the co-author has been introduced. Editors help provide consistency when multiple people are contributing to the narrative.
How to make it work: Collaboratively Writing
